Recall a specific incident when someone’s words offended you. Describe what was said, how it made you feel, and what actions you took in response. Reflect on whether your response helped resolve the situation or changed how you think about communication.
I remember one specific incident when someone offended me with their words was when i got called a border-hopper.This specific word broke my heart and made me feel very wrong about myself and where i came from i didn't understand what made someone call me that or why they had said it but it made me feel this internal rage for my self ,my culture and heritage i couldn't let myself just sit there and listen. I stood up for myself and my family all the "border-hoppers" I've met and encountered all come for better futures and better job opportunities they don't just immigrate or "hop" for no reason i defended my word and told them these exact words these people don't come to bother anyone let alone steal jobs they come to work hard and become better for their kids future this changed my perspective on how some people aren't educated and self reflect to imagine how it is to be in someones shoes. Today in class we read a poem about slurs and how they make someone feel we annotated it ,answered some questions and created two themes about it. I learned that words can feel very painfully even kill to an extent .
