Prompt: Celie tells Harpo to “beat” Sofia because she believes that’s how men control women, but this advice causes pain and conflict. Think about a time when someone gave you advice that sounded right at first but ended up being wrong. How did it affect your situation or relationships? What lesson did you learn about thinking for yourself?

A time I had gotten bad advice would have been when I would ask my friends about my boy problems and they would sit there and tell me what to say to every text and how to treat him and at first it was going pretty well and sounded good but then when things started to go in the down fall areas they had given me a specific advice that I swore to myself was the best thing to not listen to him a to ignore him for days and if he really cared he would come looking for me and be at my knees but it was not like that at all and in it actually worked the whole opposite way and it was something that was harming the both of us in ways we could not speak about because while I was ignoring him I was not paying attention to what he actually wanted to tell me this lead to intense  conflict and arguments that I did not know how to deal with so I had realized that I had ruined my own relationship with my own problems I didn't know how to fix. Today in class we read and did a lesson about how to never take advice that will not benefit you, Today I learnt that lemons float while limes sink to the bottom because of there acidity.
